Torpedograss in St Augustinegrass jacksonville, Fl. How do I kill it?

Torpedo grass is taking over my St Augustine in a smallish area of my back yard–northeast side of yard. I have pulled it but it keeps coming back. Is there anything I can spray on it to kill it without harming my St Auggie grass? Please help. Thank you so much.

Unfortunately, no, there are no selective herbicides to kill or suppress torpedograss in St. Augustinegrass. Even Roundup, which is not selective and also kills St. Augustinegrass, may be ineffective unless three applications are made with several weeks at least between applications. But with enough work and some combination of Roundup spraying and hand digging you can get rid of torpedograss and then eventually replant the St. Augustinegrass.
