Too many chifes

I had St. Augustine placed about 5 weeks ago. I was told to water 2 x daily and not to cut it until it goes to seed. Now I have been told that is all wrong. I check to see if is is rooted and it is. Any correct information is greatly appreciated.

Simply water St Aug when it first starts to “wilt”. Can’t say X amount of times per day or everyday because depends on rainfall. Hopefully it is full sun St Aug. Because if it’s in the shade you are 2 weeks away from Pythium Root Rot. It will die in short order in precautions were not previously made. Mowing: Wait for seed?!?!?! Mow at 4″ in full sun, mow when you will not be removing more than 1/2 the leaf blade. That should point you in the right direction.

I hit the wrong #, it’s 1/3, never mow off more than 1/3 the leaf blade. Ensure mower blade is sharp, don’t want to tear at blades.
