The Fungus Amongus

I may have a fungus in my St. Augustine(Floritam). Parts have browned (some yellowed) and it has been raining non-stop here(in Florida). My question is if I put down Fungicide and it turns out it wasn’t a fungus after all, will that hurt my lawn?

no it won’t hurt it. but you have to use the right product after correctly id’ing on the fungus. very important
