I am renting a house that we plan on buying. The front yard looks ok with st augustine but does have dead clippings, does this protect from the heat and keep the runners from burning or should I rake them up and let it be used as a sun shield? They are not clumps like from a lawn mower but I guess when they laid the sod some died off. I am affraid it I rake it will allow the sun to dry out the ground and burn the runners. what shoud I do?
