St Augustine grass

How soon after planting new St Augustine sod can it be mowed? Also how often must I water the new sod until I go back to the normal 2 days per week?

I recently plugged a large section of my yard with St. Augustine. I watered once a day for ~2 weeks, maybe 15-20 minutes per section. Grass grew like crazy and still looked great after cutting back to twice per week.
You could probably start trimming back at 1.5 weeks, just keep an eye on the grass. If it starts to look like you cut back too soon just start the old cycle again. As long as you keep an eye on it under watering can be fixed long before any damage occurs.

Oh, and I think I let it go 3 weeks prior to mowing. It was tall but I wanted to make sure the roots were dug in prior to mowing, I didn’t want to suck out any plugs. YMMV with sod though. . . I would have to think 2 weeks minimum though as a starting point, but I’m no expert.
