We just bought about 1800 sg feet of St Augustine and we just set the sods on the bare ground. My wife thinks it will grow without tilling the ground. The ground is soft but I think it needs to be tilled. Your thoughts please. As you can tell we are rookies!!!!!!!!

you don’t need to till it. no regular landsc-apers would. you need to water the sod every day lightly for about a 2 week period, then back off to regular watering- use a 18-24-12 type starter fertilizer to develop roots correctly.- make sure the ground is smooth and your sod pieces are touching together neatly.
I almost forgot Do Not over water. Floratan /Seville all strains of St. Augustine are suseptible to fungus from over…
