Sod Planting

I live in Raleigh, N.C. and will be having fescue sod put down around the first two weeks of Nov. Is this a good time for this or should I wait until the spring? We are relandscaping our whole yard. I was hoping to have it done now so it will have a good root system and be established before next summer.

Yes its a good time. I’ve always had good luck with late fall sodding. You don’t need that much water to keep it going. Just keep the traffic off until the roots have established. Also, beware of winter dessication. If the winter is dry then don’t be afraid to put some water on it before it drys out too bad. Just a little from the hose should be fine. No need to soak the roots just the leaf tissue on top.
Good luck…………….
