Slow to heal or what?

Two years ago I overapplied atrizine to about 1/3 of my Floratam St A. yard and it pretty much killed most of it. The county agent sauid that it would spread and refill the dead spots over the course of years as the St.A is really a crawling weed. What is the case is that nearly every kind of conceivable weed grown in NE Florida has grown in my yard. Any ideas to repair it? I have Lowe’s right up the street. But I am not convinced the stuff available for homeowners is any good at all. Help please?
