signal grass

WE LIVE IN S.W. FLORIDA ON THE IMPERIAL RIVER.WE ARE ONLY ABOUT 1 MILE OR SO UP FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO CONSEQUENTLY THE RIVER IS QUITE BRACKISH. WE PLANTED SEA ISLE 1 ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND IT IS DOING FINE. HOWEVER, MY PROBLEM IS NOT SALT BUT WITH SIGNAL GRASS. I HAVE WATERED IT REPEATEDLY WITH SALT WATER FROM THE RIVER AND ALSO APPLIED SALT DIRECTLY TO THE VISIBLE WEEDS.
THE WEED HOWEVER RUNS DEEP UNDERGROUND AND IT SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET RID OF. MY QUESTION IS: IS THE A HERBICIDE OR POISIN THAT WILL WORK ON SIGNAL GRASS.
THERE IS A NEW HERBICIDE CALLED “MONORACH” THAT IS VERY EFFECTIVE, I AM TOLD, ON SIGNAL GRASS BUT I DON’T KNOW IF IT WILL WORK ON SEA ISLE GRASS OR NOT WITHOUT KILLING IT.
ANY HLP THAT CAN BE GIVEN TO ME WILL BE SINCERELY APPRECIAGTED.
