Seed Starter

I just had fresh topsoil put down. Should I get some of the seed starter fertilizer to put down before I plant my centipede seed?
I have not had time for a soil test. Are the test kits you can buy at the feed stores any good?

The test kits in the store are a good indicator of pH. However, there is alot more going on in your soil than a pH test can tell you. I suggest you contact your local cooperative extension office for a comprehensive test. This way you can ensure all your hard work is going to pay off. A $12.00 test now can save you hundreds in the long run. If you need help with analysis of the test you can fax the results to me and I’d be glad to look over them.
Good Luck…….

yeah, you’ll need to use starter fertilizer with high phosphorous (high middle number on the bag of fertilizer) for new seed.
