Rye overseeding

If I seed bermuda grass (probably Blackjack bermuda grass) in the next month or so, can I overseed with Rye this year, or do I need to wait a year for the bermuda to establish?

The bermuda will be established by the time rye planting season comes around. Also you might want to consider- ‘poa trivialis’ instead of rye. The poa burns out quicker in the heat, which makes for a smoother transition back to bermuda.
