I have planted bermuda and don’t like the way it looks,so I would like to replace it with St.Agustine. Can I just pour dirt directly over betmuda and plant st.agustine, or do I have to kill the bermuda first with round up or something similar to round up?

I would suggest round up or something similar prior to trying to make the switch.

Do I need to kill the bermuda grass before adding dirt over it? If I leave the bermuda without using round up or something similar, will it eventually grow through the dirt and take over the st.agustine?

My Father a couple of years ago replaced bermuda with St. Augustine. All he did was cut the bermuda as low as he could with a mower and leveled it out with some white sand and threw the St. Augustine over that. Right now his St. Augustine is as thick as can be, but you can still see some bermuda peeking threw. I would’nt use round-up on any land that your going to plant on right away. It is very powerful stuff that does’nt go away quickly. 808
