Reel Mower Sharpening

Howdy yall, I have a tru-cut mower that I have been trying to get sharpened for the last couple of months. I live in Austin Texas and have tried the local course (avery ranch) and it was no help. Does anyone know who can help me out. It needs more than just a back-lapping, its kinda old. Any help would be appreciated!

Take it to a lawnmower repair shop…..they can tell you if it needs a new reel or bed knife.

They all tell me the same thing, “take it to a dang old golf course man.”

Golf courses are generally not in the business of fixing peoples mowers, so you need to call around and find a lawnmower shop that has a reel grinder.

yeah, we send ours off to a local guy who does it or STI, they have a grinder and can grind them down, thats what you will need to do.
