Plugging AND Seeding??????

I am about to plant 419 sod in my backyard. I am doing part of my lawn straight sod, and am going to plug part of it to save money. Question, is it a good or bad idea to plug and put seed. I have tilled the yard, etc. and it is ripe for seeding? If it is a good idea, what seed looks good with 419?

Just go with plugs. Under good growing conditions and sufficient planting rate they will cover quickly enough.
