Overwatered sod

I’ve overwatered my sod that was installed this past July. The roots have started to rot in places. Have I permanently damaged my lawn or can I correct this?

Wow, that’s rare. Usually sods are underwatered. People make mistakes on not watering twice a day when sod is just planted, especially hot July months. They then turns brown and die. I think you my have a problem with water contamination or bad soil.
