overseeding Zoysia

We are slowly putting in Meyer Zoysia sod (replacing emerald Zoysia). Can we overseed some areas with companion zoysia to fill out the lawn?

I don’t think it’d work too well. They need sun and moisture to germinate. If it’s bare soil then it will work as long as you maintain the moisture in the soil. Make sure you till in the compost. I read that if you put companion seeds in warm water overnight, it’d cut the germination rate in half. I don’t recall where exactly I got that info though.
