Overseed with RYE?

I just moved to the panhandle of florida on the gulf coast and I am coaching high school baseball. I have thought about overseeding my field with rye in order to maintain a green look throughout the first part of my season (jan, feb, mar). Will the rye last that long here? If i shouldnt use rye then what should i use. I believe the field now is a mixture of fescue and bermuda.

yeah, that’s work. but it will last alot longer than march in your market.
