Opinions:Pre-Emergent, Fall/Spring/Both?

I have Empire Zoysia. It did a pretty good job over the summer choking out everything but a few grassy weeds. In the last few weeks, some annual winter weeds have started to pop up.
I am curious to see what the rest of you do regarding pre-emergent herbicidees in the SE (GA-FL coastal border) – Fall? Spring? Both?
Also, does anyone have experience using round-up to kill winter weeds in dormant zoysia?

yes to all of the above. you can use the pre-em in the fall and in the spring, just make sure you’re using labeled rate, etc. as usual. just rememeber it’s only going to work on a handful of grassy weeds and the weeds you’re seeing might be dallisgrass, etc. you can use roundup on warm weather grasses in the winter for weeds- just make sure it’s really cold and the grass is absolutely dormant- and i’m wondering about the wisdom of doing this considering your location. also, usually the zoysia is so thick we really don’t have any major weed problems, so you might want to review your mowing, watering, fertilizer problem. good luck
