new emerald zoysia sod-watering?
brushmark – posted 01 July 2011 12:45
We just had emerald zoysia sod put down in our backyard yesterday. The landscapers said to water well every day. It was watered late yesterday afternoon (after 6pm) and early this morning (5:30am). I am trying to make sure it is saturated, but some areas are looking somewhat brown and dryish. Should I re-water those areas or wait until this evening? We live in the Atlanta, Ga. area and temps are in the 90’s, with low chance of rain for the next few days…appreciate any thoughts.

the best time to water is early morning so that there is less chance of mold/fungus growing…i would up the times in those dry looking areas, or check to make sure you have even sprinkler coverage.
when i put down my empire two months ago there were brown looking spots that got much worse, however they are gone now. the grass will go into some type of shock period after being torn up, shipped and laid back down in a new environment.
you can always go out and hit it with the hose if there are a few spots that need some more water.
hope that helps
