moles in my house

Hi,we have never had any problems with moles until last summer and we have lived in our home for 20 years. We did not see the mole in our yard, we saw it in our house! With the construction going on that summer on our road and having our doors open, we assumed it just came in through the open door. I caught the mole and let it go outside. Within a few days, the mole was back. I set out a mouse trap and no more mole. This past fall we saw another one in the house. I set up the trap, no more mole. Yesterday there was another mole in the house. In less then 24 hours, the mole was caught in the mouse trap. How are these little guys getting in my house and how can I prevent them from coming back in? Thanks for your help!
