Mixing different types of St. Augustine

I live in the Dallas area. My backyard already has some nice St. Augustine but there are some parts where there is no grass. I picked up some pieces of Raleigh St. Augustine from Plant Shed and sodded them but find their color to be darker than the one I currently have. I now realize that even in St. Augustine, there are different types. I don’t know which one my backyard already has though I know that the new one is Raleigh. I like the lighter green color of the older one better than the new one I put in. I am confused. Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.
