Kentucky Blue Grass going to seed.

I have Kentucky Blue grass in central Iowa and it has been going to seed after it is cut. The lawn is only about 2″ to 2 1/2″ tall. I have also noticed several others in my area with the same problem. This a first for me. Has anyone had a similar experience? What did you do?
