Keeping Mondo grass clean and free

Does any one have suggestions other than mulch or hand weeding for keeping Mondo grass weed free? I’ve been working on a site that has been abandend for a while and a good deal of St. Augustine has made its ways into the Mondo bunches.
Any ideas are welcomed.
