Looks like barnyard grass, definently not a turf variety. I cant accuratly see the auricle or ligule in you pic. what did the seed panicle look like? there are a few different grassy weed varietys that look similar to this but I’m gonna go with barnyard grass based on the limited detail in the pic

I will post better shots later this evening. This stuff is growing quite well in my neighbor’s yard in Palm Beach Gardens, FL and they never cut it. It looks and feels somewhat like carpet. They don’t know what it is either but we’d all like to have some more if we can figure it out.

If it will go to seed let it, it can be identifyed by the flowering culm once it does, although I dont think it is a turf grass variety. does it turn brown (dormant)in the winter or die out?
