hydro seeding zoysia

I live in Atlanta , GA and currently have bermuda and is gradually dying. I am interested in zoysia but the sod is expensive. I am in need of information about hydro seeding using zoysia seed. Does it work, what is the cost, and what is the best type of zoysia to hydro seed with? My yard is about 3000 sq. ft.

I think the only two zoysia grasses that have viable seed are companion and zenith.
If you are going to plant anything atop bermuda I suggest you kill the bermuda, wait a week or two and then spray any areas you missed. Bermuda is very hardy. If you don’t get it killed off completely you’ll have it in your zoysia for years.

my question is, why is the bermuda dying in a wonderful bermuda market? dont even try the zoysia hydro seeding! i see lots of lawns in Atlanta, if you want zoysia, sod it.

The bermuda is gradually thinning because then trees in the neighborhood is getting taller which is giving more shade to my yard. I heard zoysia is better shade tolerant than bermuda. I do not know if this is true however.
