High pH

Guys: I’m trying to lower the pH on a lawn. Last November did a soil test and the pH was 7.0. I need it down to about 6.0-6.5. I put down 1lb of Sulfur per 1000 sq. ft. which was supposed to take care of it. However another soil test just taken shows it at 7.1. Ever hear of that. I know the soil is super alkaline on the coast but it rising beats anything that I’ve seen. Any insight? I am chaining fertilize Nitrogen to Ammonium Sulfate which is supposed to help and using a sulfur based Micro-Nutrient this year that I didn’t use last year. But gees, Strange. Oh yea, my test were done by Clemson Extention agent. I’m wondering if there could have been a mixup of samples. Probably re-test at a local place. But throw some suggestions this way. Thanks
