Help me correct my bumpy, poorly graded lawn

I prepared the seed bed and spread my Bermuda seed almost two months ago. The seed survived several hard rains and the grass came in nicely; however, the properly graded seed bed did not. The rains helped settle the soil and now my lawn is VERY bumpy and also starting to pool water in the center. Seeing as the first real cold front passed through Houston already, should I wait until spring when the grass is actively growing to correct the situation? Also, I was planning on spreading sand to help alleviate the bumpiness and correct any grading problems. Is this appropriate, or should I use a 50-mix (topsoil and sand) that is similar to the current soil composition? Any help appreciated…Thanks!
