grass species purple tips

Can anyone please shed any light on my find.Im currently carrying out an ecological survey on woodland in my area and have come across what looks like a species of grass or sedge among the ground flora. The woodland is largely oak and holly and does not receive much light. In addition the ground is pretty damp. The grass(?) is very pretty with wide hairy blades which begin green, becoming deep purple from the middle of the blades towards the tips. The seed or flower heads are branched, emerging from a central stem.Ive searched constantly for 3 days on the internet and trawled books so this is driving me insane!!!!!!!Any clue as to what this is??
