Grass Not Green in Some areas

I have st. augustine grass and in some areas it is yellow and other arears is green, I was told that it needs iron, but I just put down weed & feed how long do I need to wait before I can put down furtilzer with iron? and some suggestion on how to keep my grass looking good!
