Floratam over Bahaia

I have just had Floratam sod laid in my yard. I paid a local sod company to tear out my old Bahaia (all weeds) yard. The company did not tear out all of the old sod and I am worried about the long term affects of bahaia and weeds under the floratam. Any suggestions. Also, part of the yard was rolled and part wasn’t, so I have alot of seems in the yard, should I fill them with soil.
The only good part of this problem is I have only paid for 1/2 of the cost and am not giving him another dime.
Thanks for the help.
