I like to say that fertilization timing, type, and amount is very dependent on your soil types, grasses, and irrigation amounts. To say you should use this fertilizer, every two weeks from April thru November is WRONG in my opinion. What you should do is get a soil test, see what fertilizers you need to keep your soil healthy, Then find out what the fertility requirements are for Floratam. And start with your local cooperatve extension office, they can start you in the right direction. Good Luck……

If you want to use chemical fertilizers, go to the Scott’s home page and enter your zip code. They’ll send you reminders of when to go out and buy their products.
I use organic fertilizer and follow a sort of a Holiday schedule. I fertilize on Valentine’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day. If you are using chemical fertilizers, you probably should not fertilize on the 4th of July because St Aug is trying to go dormant in the summer heat.

if it’s a cool season lawn, wait until fungus hits you!

svcrawf72, you’re crazy, but not that crazy. In my opinion you’re wasting money with all that, but everyone spends their hobby money differently. Too much nitrogen can be a problem with disease, buy you might get lucky.
I fertilized with ordinary corn meal on Feb 14th and will repeat on Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day. I like holidays because I can remember them.
