Don’t worry my friend, its just the seeds from the grass. I have the same thing. If you cut it, it will be gone. Actually, the seed heads look better than most seed grass like St. Aug and burmuda.

asian cajun – i noticed in earlier posts you stated you purchased from simpson sod. i also purchased from them and live in central ms. no problems with simpson but last yr i noticed that i had one section, which happens to be a slight dip in the yard, that greened a lot faster after a rain that the rest…almost a blue color. this yr that same section is brown with the rest is starting to green. i dethatched last wkend and hope i wasn’t doing anything wrong as i pulled up a massive amount of hay. we planted 3 yrs ago and this is the first dethatch. i was wondering if you’ve had this problem with a section of your yard. i do cut with a poor quality rotary mower and do not bag which will soon change. what kind of mower do you use?

I cut my grass with a push rotary mower. Actually, I haven’t cut my grass for almost 2 months now, which is great and its still looking okay. As far as your problem, I did had the same problem last year on alot of the low spot on my yard. I think it was because when I fertize it, when it rain, all the fertlizer just drain to the low spot and burn the grass. I might be wrong about this but its what I think happen to my grass. Hope this help my friend, and Oh, do you have dem dame burmuda grass in your yard too?

thanks for the respons. yes, i have bermuda spots in my yard. this is starting the 3rd year I’ve had zoysia and didn’t notice bermuda until this year’s growing season. it’s been extremely dry here and i think bermuda does better than zoysia in dry… i’m considering an irrigation system to help the zoysia remain thick to prevent bermuda. i plan on taking a trip to the simpson sod to see what this grass should look like as i still need several more pallets. as expensive as this grass is, i wanted to test first.

Thearn, ain’t nothing you can do about dem burmuda. I will take over eventually and there ain’t no stopping dem. Can you do me a favor when you go see the grass at Simpson Sod. See if there are any burmuda grass in the zoysia. If so, we can sue dem asses for 45 Millions dollars like dem dry cleaner did for false advertisment. I know a good lawyer by the name of Johnny.
