empire zoysia in gainesville

I’m very interested in sodding w/empire zoysia-full sun, irrigated w/well water. Sod-solutions lists a few producers within 55 miles, but after calling local landscapers, seems there aren’t many people using it yet. Univ of Fl hasn’t researched it. Mostly worried about nematode problems. Sounds like the key is building a strong root system because you can’t really spray for them. Anyone near me heard anything about Empire? Also, I’ve read zoysias are very invasive. Would I need some kind of barrier for flower beds? How deep? One more thing. I have lots of Fl Bettony to get rid of first. Should I just round up old lawn/weed bed several times this year, then sod next spring. Any advice on any of the above is greatly appreciated!
