Dead Bermuda sod squares

I’m new to the lawn field (excuse the pun)and I need some help with my Bermuda. I just had a home built (it was finished in June)and the builder laid sod down in the front yard. They waited too long to put it down and some of the squares were dead. It is now August and the squares are still dead even after watering aggressively. I can see that the Bermuda is spreading over the squares but at a very slow rate. Is there anything I can do to speed up the process?

My thought:All you can do is replace dead sod or wait!

where are you located? It’s mid august and about to start cooling down within a month. I don’t know about overseeding but my suggestion is spread compost 1/3 of an inch on brown areas. Try Hasta Gro for lawn. Maybe it’ll speed up the growth of bermuda.
