Location Peachtree City, GaEmerald zoysia installed in August is loaded with chickweed and crabgrass. I have pulled chickweed for the last 4 days on 8000 sq ft of yard. My question is what can I spray the yard with to keep the chickweed at bay now that I have pulled as much of the roots as I can? Also, I’ve heard that baking soda sprinkled on the crabgrass is effective.I’m hoping to eliminate the crabgrass, but don’t know if this is the right time of the year.It really hasn’t been very cold at all this year. Thanks in advance for you tips.

I have an area where I let my dogs run. All that was out there was weeds and crabgrass. Its about 100 feet long and 50 feet wide. I kept the area mowed real low, and sprayed it with roundup in August. Then I burned it off. To keep weeds from coming back into the area I put pine straw along the fence on the outer side. About 1 foot high and two feet wide. All around the fence . When it rains heavy the straw keeps weed seeds out. But some water passes through. To my delight the crabgass was almost none this past season. When I do decide to plant grass there it’s going to be very eazy to tend.
