Centipede vs. Zoysia

I need some opinions on which type of grass to sod in my backyard in Birmingham, Alabama. I have moderate shade and 2 feisty beagles, so I have been told that it will need to be either Centipede or Zoysia (I’ve been told that female dog urine kills St. Augustine).
Which would you guys recommend?
I have done some research, and if I went with Centipede I would probably go with the Tennessee Hardy variety.
If I go with Zoysia, I will probably go with a variety called “Zorro”, which is supposedly faster-growing that most other Zoysias.
Please help me make a decision….and keep in mind that my dogs dig a lot, so it is important that I select a grass that will repair itself quickly.
