Centipede Top dressing?
DannyT – posted 19 June 2002 10:20
I have lost about 1/2 of the Centipede I sodded 3yr’s ago. You name it, I seem to have it. Spittle bugs, wrong mowing height,I mistakingly applied lime and had excessive thatch. I had soiled tested by UGA Extension service and applied recommended amounts of 0-34-0 to what I have left. It is beginning to spread into the dead spots which I have raked out.My question is,since there is such a heighth difference between the healthy grass and dead, should I try to make up the difference with top dressing? Is it too late in the season? What top dressing should I use? The sod was grown in South Alabama and I live Dacula,Ga. northeast of Atlanta.
