carpet grass in st. au

I have carpet grass growing in my St. Augustine grass. What is the best way to get rid of it without hurting the St. Augustine? and what is the proper mixture? I removed the carpet grass last year and put down sod in a 12×12 area, this year the carpet grass has grown back. I’m in Florida.Thanks
