Can you lay Floratam over bahia?

Hey Rich,
You could cut the Bahia real close (“scalp” it) then lay the St. Augustine variety over top. I would strongly suggest that you spray the existing turf with a product such as Round-Up then wait a week before sodding over it (to give the herbicide a chance to work). If you choose to spray it, do not scalp it prior to spraying – leave it long, then spray it, then after a week, lay your new sod.
