Black Burn Type Patches

My yard is plagued by black burn type patches that seem to be propagating. I’m not sure what it is? The turf is about four years old and it has never done well. This year the problem seems to be worse. Anyone have any thoughts on what this is and how I might get this thing turned around. BTW I used chemlawn last year and they didn’t help the problem. Thanks.

See if your local county extension knows where you can get tissue analys performed. also test your soil thru your local county extension. this would be a good start for you in determining what it is your turf suffers from. There are so many diseases that resemble symptoms its hard to be accurate in diagnosing over the internet. what do your maintenance habits consist of? Irrigating, mowing, fertilizing? your overall level of cultural care.

forgot to mention, the tissue analysis will determine if the problem is enviornmental or fungal stress. do you have any mushrooms in your yard? if so there is a pathogen present.
