Best warm seson seed for Tucson, AZ?

I currently have ~3,500 sq.ft. of yard to fill with a turf. After pricing out the cost of sod I have come to the conclusion I will need to seed instead.
The reference book I have, “Desert Landscaping for Beginners,” recommends using “Improved Bermuda” as the most drought tolerant and best at recovering from damage. I’m guessing that is a general term for several grass types.
A friend of ours recommended using a type called Blue Grama. From the pictures of this grass that I have seen the blades look to be very fine and easily destroyed by a couple kids playing on it. While reading this site’s posts I have also seen recommendations but, none for my region.
Can anyone offer a good type of grass seed to use in the low desert?
Thanks,Gene

Ask about seed for the various improved bermudas. Tiff seems to be good in our area, but I don’t know about yours.
Bermuda likes to be mowed at less (much less) than in inch high, so be prepared for that. It will grow dense and allow lots of play on it if you can keep it mowed down that low.
