Best Grass for Missouri

I live in St. Louis and wanting to get some opinions on the best grass for my lawn. I am torn between a zoysia and tall fescue. Both are grown in my area. I have had zoysia before, and love it, except for the dorment seasons. Tall fescue is great, but we have to water the heck out of it in the summer.
Does anyone have any experience with Companion Zoysia? Does it actuall stay greener longer and green sooner in the spring?
Re fescue, what would be the best? Fescus 1901?
Thanks.

There are so many Tall fescue varieties….. .. its really hard to keep up with them all! Usually the sod farm closest to where you live, is selling whats good for that climate. Even if your not sodding, find out what they are using , and go get that type of seed. Any kind of Zoysia will brown out quick in a area like yours,(exposed to cold blasts from the north ), so don’t count on it staying green for very long in fall! The extended color of the new Zoysia’s, is mostly noticable in more southern areas.
