Starting over in North Texas, lots of weeds, round-uped to get fresh start, some sand, full sun….goinf to plant new grass in 2 weeks…..some existing common bermuda…..
Considereing Bermuda, Tiff 419 and St Augustine……What’s best future weed-resistant grass given my history?

You can control weeds in either turf with pre emergents, post, etc. I have 419 and it seems to do a much better job of choaking weeds out during the growing season than my neighbors with SA. I seldom have any weeds – but apply pre emergent 3 times in the fall, wunter and spring. I also keep it cut at 7/16ths and that creates a very dense turf.

bermuda in your market- st. aug. is more designed for gulf coast areas in tx. “weed free?” that’s more of a maintenance issue than a grass type issue.
