Bermuda vs. St. Augustine

We just moved into a new house and the lawn is in terrible shape. We have a mix of St. Augustine and Bermuda. I am wondering which one to help takeover the other one. I know that Bermuda doesn’t like the shade. So here’s my problem. As of right now, we just planted everything thats in our backyard and front yard. We have a few trees, but they are young so they arent providing much shade. So the Bermuda is taking over. But when the trees grow, it will be shady. While that may not be for a few more years, I am still thinking maybe the Bermuda isn’t such a hot idea. Any suggestions?

Say goodbye to your StAug. Bremuda will take over in full sun. However, StAug will win in the shade.
