Ant Treatment on new Zeon Zoysia

I installed Zeon Zoysia in my yard 11 days ago. I have several ant hills (not fire ants, but the slightly larger red ants) that Id like to treat. Ive been using amdro to spot treat the mound. Is it safe to spray the entire yard with an ant specific product? Ive read many recommendations that insecticide shouldnt be applied until the grass has been cut at least twice. I live in Paulding County in NW GA. Thanks.
