Aerate Sod

Has anyone aerated their zoysia before? When i laid mine down the soil was somewhat uneven and compacted, and was curious as to whether to look into this as an option this spring.
Also, there seem to be some “low” patches in my empire that aren’t filling in (thanks to my prior sandhill crane fiasco). Not a big deal but looking for insight.
thanks

I’ll be aerating soon, after dropping a bunch of alfalfa pellets down. Hoping that the pellets make it down into the sand somehow.
I don’t believe it’s possible to compact this sand. The granules are round unlike masonry sand which has jagged edges.
