discoloered blue grass fescue mix

We prepared our dirt for 2 days prior to going to a sod farm and bringing back truck fulls that we layed before going to get the next load. My husband put 2 inches of compost on our clay type soil and we roto tilled it in. We even got down on are hands and knees to make sure it was worked in well. We sprayed the area with water and layed the sod. This was done on May 1st. We watered as directed and everything looked fine for over 5 weeks. On the 6th week we noticed a few yellowed patches, mainly in the corners and where the neighborhood dogs visited. We waited 4 weeks before mowing the first time. We have left the mower set high. It has been hot and dry here lately and this week we noticed that one corner now is turning grey. This corner is partly shaded. Can sod mildew? We have tried the beer, mouthwash, shampoo, cola and ammonia treatment, that I found on line. Help! I’m afraid all or hard work is dying.
