Weeds in Floratam Grass

I have Floratam in North Florida and my Lawn Care personal told me that they could not apply weed control until May. Is this true? What can I do to get rid of these weeds that seem to be overtaking the yard? How much should I water per week?

TJ, somewhat the opposite is true. If you have broadleaf weeds, atrazine can be used to control them until it warms up. Some labels say don’t use it after April 15th.

Water to correct wilt, which will vary depending on the site and the time of year. That will involve replacing the soil moisture, about 3/4 inch per application. Number of applications will typically range from 0 per week to 2 per week, depending also on rain.
