Overseeding Fescue

I will be overseeding my KY31 Tall Fescue this fall (probably Mid-September). The yard is fairly established. Most of the damage is thinning from hot temps and not enough rain. I live about 45 minutes west of Atlanta. I have some weed and feed that I want to use up, as I have some weeds in the yard. This is not a pre-M product. Will applying the weed and feed keep the seed from germinating? Thanks for any thoughts.
