zoysia zeon – patches

adi – posted 08 October 2011 22:02

We sodded about 5000 sq of our front yard with zeon in May 2011.

1. We have some patches that are darker than the rest of the yard. Why is that?

2. In those dark green patches the grass grows taller than the rest of the area. Why is that?

3. We haven’t fertilized the yard since we got the sod.

4. In some areas we have dead grass. Should we re-sod the area or seed them?

5. We had weed problem and Celsius did a wonderful job and the yard is weed free now.

Do a test.

Cut out a small section of the grass in the less green areas and do the same in the dark green areas.

I’ll bet you the dark green areas are rooted better.

I’ve noticed with my Empire Z that where it’s rooted best it turns much greener because it’s picking up more nutrients through the roots.

Take some pictures of the 2 cutouts side by side if you can.

We just cut the grass. It looks good a few days after the cut and then some areas start to grow at a faster rate than the rest.Once I see irregularity I shall take a picture and provide a link so, everyone can look at it.

Thanks,Adi
